Description
The bamboo chashaku (tea scoop) is the traditional Japanese tool for measuring matcha powder. Its elegant curved shape is designed to scoop the perfect amount of matcha — one scoop equals approximately 1 gram, so two scoops give you the ideal single serving.
Why Use a Chashaku
A regular spoon holds too much or too little matcha, leading to inconsistent cups. The chashaku’s narrow, curved design gives you precise, repeatable dosing every time. It’s also long enough to reach the bottom of matcha tins without getting powder on your fingers.
How to Use
- Ceremonial matcha: 2 scoops (~1 tsp / 2g) into your bowl
- Matcha latte: 3–4 scoops (~1.5–2 tsp) for a stronger base
- Sift the matcha through a fine strainer after scooping to eliminate clumps
Details
- Material: Natural bamboo, handcrafted
- Origin: Traditional Japanese tea ceremony (chanoyu) essential
- Care: Wipe clean with a dry cloth after use. Do not soak or wash with soap
