r Whole Californiarr Whole, shelled, *California almonds coming from a small family farm.  This farm uses absolutely no herbicides, pesticides, fungicide or chemical fertilizers–organic or otherwise.  These almonds were produced using cover crops, rotational grazing of sheep, and harvested without ever touching the ground.  If you are concerned about the soil your food is grown in, you’ll appreciate all that these almonds are. r

r *California Almonds refers to a group of varieties used for pollination on the premium variety (Nonpareil).  These still have a great taste and texture, slightly darker in color and not as consistent in size and shape.  All the California varieties from this orchard are sweet, so no worries about bitter almonds.

r **Due to USDA regulation all “raw” almonds grown in California must be subjected to a “flash” steam pasteurization process in order to protect the consumer from pathogens. Although “pasteurized,” California raw almonds still have the taste and texture of a raw almond, will sprout, and according to research, pasteurization causes little to no loss of nutrition. These almonds are PPO free (propylene oxide free) and have had no chemicals applied in processing.

r Use these almonds for anything! Great all by themselves, mixed in a trail mix, on a salad, in Christmas candy, roasted, chopped, or whole. These Almonds will not have the consistency of the Nonpareil, in shape, color, and size, but do not lack in great taste and good texture. You can even soak them and make almond milk, but whatever you do with them – enjoy!
